ANACACHO

The Anacacho Ranch is a real property located southwest of Uvalde, Texas and lies in the three counties of Uvalde, Kinney and Maverick. It is named for the Anacacho Mountains that run through it. As the author, Louise Gaylord, remembers it, there is a large, two-story stone ranch house, two stories. She remembers the interior was very cool because the walls were so thick. She visited there only once when she was in the eighth grade. The ranch was then owned by Wyatt C. Hedrick, a Houston architect.
